Telecity in talks to acquires Data Electronics - Data centre provider TelecityGroup has confirmed it is chatting up Data Electronics Group (DEG) and that those flirtations could lead to an acquisition, reported to be valued at roughly £100m. The discussions are at an early stage, but Telecity, one of Europe's largest pusher of carrier-neutral data centres, is eyeing up cloud expansion and has the funding to buy and build. "The Group confirms that it is in discussions with the shareholders of Data Electronics, which may or may not lead to an acquisition by TelecityGroup," the AIM-listed firm stated in a note to the market. Telehouse opens new floor of London data centre - Telehouse, a leading provider of global data centres and managed ICT services, has released an additional floor with almost 1000m² of colocation space at Telehouse West, its state-of-the-art flagship data centre facility in London’s East India Dock adjacent to its existing sites. Telehouse West was opened in 2010 and has rapidly met the demands of UK and multinational businesses for high-capacity data centres, as well as offering connectivity to over 400 ISPs, carriers and Internet Exchanges.
The Bunker Adds Power, New Data Hall - The Bunker has successfully commissioned additional power capacity for its ultra secure data centre in Newbury and added a new data hall within the existing bunker. The additional power will supply the expansion of further data floors within the Newbury bunker, meeting growing demand for fully managed and colocation space. The new high capacity data hall is built within the secure confines of the former nuclear Command and Control bunker to The Bunker’s high specifications for security and resilience.
