Server Farm Realty Leases Space in Santa Clara

Server Farm Realty says it has leased space in its new data center in Santa Clara, Calif. to "a major California based Fortune 500 semiconductor company."

The company's Santa Clara site at 5101 Lafayette Street features about 13,000 square feet of data center space. The LEED Silver data center features a concurrently maintainable design with direct/indirect evaporative cooling and airside economization. In marketing the building, Server Farm Realty has emphasized its use of a fire suppression system known as Hi-Fog, a fine water misting system designed to prevent extensive damage in the case of a fire.

“Evaporative cooling systems use significantly less energy than traditional compressor based air conditioning,” said Bob Glavan, SFR’s vice president of operations. “Our cooling design utilizes airside economization, which supplies free cooling 88 percent of the year." The cooling system is fed by redundant city water supplies, one of which is Santa Clara City grey/recycled water.

Server Farm Realty is the data center development arm of the Red Sea Group, an investment group based in Israel. The company is developing new facilities in three markets, and also owns several data centers that are fully leased to a large telecom company.
