Digital Realty Targets Growth in Asia-Pacific

Data center developer Digital Realty Trust (DLR) says it is targeting the Asia-Pacific region for its next phase of expansion, with plans for facilities in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and India.

Data center developer Digital Realty Trust (DLR) says it is targeting the Asia-Pacific region for its next phase of expansion, with plans for facilities in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and India. Digital Realty CTO Jim Smith and head of Asia-Pacific operations Kris Kumar tell ZDNet Asia that the company is responding to demand from existing customers who are seeking data center space in the region.

Digital Realty isn;t the only data center builder focusing on the Asia-Pacific markets. Clocation and interconnection specialist Equinix is currently expanding facilities in Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
