Who's the mystery buyer that has purchased the domain DataCenter.com? The domain sold for $352,500 in a May 26 auction at Great Domains (via Elliot's Blog). The seller was domain name investor Next Navigation Pty Ltd., but the identity of the buyer has not been revealed. It usually takes a few days for the settlement and escrow process for a domain sale to be completed before the new owner takes possession, at which point the registrar WHOIS records should reveal the new owner.

But given the sale price, the new owner is likely to have deep pockets. Who might be interested? There's precedent for large vendors acquiring generic domain names for key business segments. An example: Dell owns CloudComputing.com.
