MRS3: The WWII Nazi Submarine Bunker in Marseille That's Now a Data Center

Gallery: Digital Realty's Interxion has converted a WWII German U-boat pen in Marseille into a data center.

Interxion, the European data center giant now part of San Francisco-based Digital Realty Trust, has converted a WWII German submarine bunker (which the Nazis never finished or used) in Marseille into a data center. The site officially came online in July 2020. To learn more about the project and its importance on the global interconnection map, read our feature here. Click below to see the facility inside and out (as well as a few shots of MRS2 next door) in photos taken during the final stages of fitout.
