Major Power Upgrade at St. Louis Data Hub

Digital Realty Trust (DLR) is expanding the power and data center capacity at its 210 N. Tucker, its data center hub in St. Louis. The upgrades will add 16 megawatts of new electrical power capacity.

Digital Realty Trust (DLR) is expanding the power and data center capacity at 210 N. Tucker, its data center hub in St. Louis. The upgrades will add 16 megawatts of new electrical power capacity, which effectively quadruples the power available to the facility. A new power distribution system is also being installed at the building. The combined upgrades will allow Digital Realty to add 30,000 to 60,000 square feet of additional raised floor data center space.

"These improvements to 210 N. Tucker make it one of the most desirable data center properties in the midwestern United States," said Glenn Benoist, Vice President, Portfolio Management at Digital Realty Trust.

"The increased level of datacenter demand in St. Louis has prompted us to expand our commitment to this market," Benoist said. "With a total of 20 MW of power and a significant amount of new data center space, the facility will be the premier site for St. Louis' growing data center market. The power enhancement also allows us to offer customers our Turn-Key Datacenter solution."

The Turn-key Datacenter program offers customers finished ”plug and play” raised-floor data center space, which shifts the data center development costs from the tenant to the landlord, and allows for much quicker deployment than if the customer built a new facility on its own.

210 N. Tucker is an 18-story building in downtown St. Louis that offers over 200,000 square feet of space. That large footprint also provides Digital Realty with considerable flexibility to configure data center space to client requirements. It is a carrier-neutral facility serviced by multiple fiber providers, and is connected to the neighboring facility at 900 Walnut via 400 strands of dark fiber. Construction is underway and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of this year.
