Device42, maker of data center and cloud management software, recently acquired ArrayIQ, a Boston-based developer of software that automatically gives IT managers deep visibility into their storage infrastructure.
Device42 said the functionality would built on its platform’s existing ability to display information about a user’s storage estate in public clouds, including AWS and Azure. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The addition of ArrayIQ to Device42 extends our vision of providing end-to-end visibility into exponentially growing hybrid IT infrastructure for our customers,” Device42 CEO and co-founder Raj Jalan said in a statement.
Enterprise IT infrastructure increasingly stretches across a variety of cloud services and their own data centers. That makes it difficult to keep track of and manage a company’s technical infrastructure effectively. Companies like Device42 and ArrayIQ have built products meant to help IT teams deal with that complexity.
ArrayIQ’s platform automatically discovers and identifies storage assets in a user’s data center, collects operating data from those assets, and helps optimize their performance by identifying and predicting where an application may hit a bottleneck caused by the storage infrastructure.
Founded about a decade ago, West Haven, Connecticut-based Device42 says it now has customers in more than 60 countries. The company raised $30 million in funding last year.
Device42’s software addresses a broad range of enterprise IT infrastructure assets. It has a holistic IT operations solution, which automatically discovers a client’s infrastructure and applications across their own data centers and cloud platforms.
It also has a DCIM software solution for helping manage racks, servers, and power consumption on the data center floor, as well as a configuration management database solution.
Device42 said it will integrate ArrayIQ into its platform, but that the separate product will be available immediately.
