As the world's largest operator of mission-critical facilities, Digital Realty is a major force in the data center construction business. Digital Realty has focused its focus on modular design on the mechanical and electrical infrastructure, rather than enclosures for the IT equipment. At last week's Uptime Symposium, Chief Technology Officer Jim Smith gave us an overview of how Digital Realty incorporates pre-fabricated infrastructure into its data centers, and showed off the on-site POD Architecture 2.0 modules. This video runs about 8 minutes.
