Six Degrees acquires CCC and gets new funding.  London's Six Degrees group announced  it has raised £8  million (~$12.5 million) in new funding from Penta Capital and that it has completed the acquisition of Cloud Computing Centre (CCC), a Surrey-based managed cloud hosting expert. CCC’s cloud platform is highly complementary to the existing Six Degrees technology and they are also a Microsoft Gold Partner and Silver Hosting Partner, bringing incremental skillsets for Microsoft Hyper-V to the Group. “I am delighted to welcome Cloud Computing Centre to Six Degrees Group," said Alastair Mills, CEO of Six Degrees Group. "This is a significant acquisition for us as it reinforces our mid-market focus, strengthens our managed cloud hosting team and brings outstanding technical capabilities to the Group.”

GPX achieves first South Asia Tier IV data center. GPX Global Systems in Mumbai, India announced it has become the first company in South Asia to secure a Tier IV design certification, meeting the maximum reliability level accredited by The Uptime Institute. The 4,00 square meter GPX IDC facility is located in the Green, LEED Certified, Boomerang Building in the East Andheri section of Mumbai. Commenting on the announcement Nick Tanzi, GPX CEO said, "we’re honoured to be the first ‘Uptime Certified’ TIER IV data center facility in South Asia. Other providers claim to operate TIER IV data centers, but their facilities lack the critical infrastructure to ensure fault tolerant operations, and the credible endorsement from The Uptime Institute, ‘The Data Center Authority."

Internap selected by OwnerIQ.  Internap Network Services (INAP)  announced that OwnerIQ, a provider of targeted digital advertising solutions, is using Internap’s scalable Managed Hosting services, along with the company’s route-optimized Performance IP and Content Delivery Network, to power its real-time ad targeting and media buying platform, which processes and delivers massive amounts of advertising data each day. OwnerIQ’s rapid business growth presented several challenges for its IT team, which struggled to efficiently scale the company’s IT Infrastructure with its previous hosting providers. OwnerIQ migrated to  Los Angeles and New York Internap locations, strategically located close to the primary U.S. ad bidding exchanges. “Our digital advertising and real-time bidding business presents unique IT Infrastructure challenges.
