WSJ Highlights Data Center Spending

The recent growth in Internet infrastructure spending has caight the attention of The Wall Street Journal, which has a story this morning titled Spending Soars on Internet's Plumbing. 

"The need to reach customers and employees over the Web is driving furious demand for server systems, the machines that power corporate computer rooms," the Journal writes, adding that "an increasing number of businesses are turning to outsourcing companies, which manage computer rooms for customers and in many cases are sharply stepping up purchases of servers to keep up with rising demand."

The piece includes comments from executives from Rackspace, Savvis, The Planet, i/o Data Centers and Terremark. The information won't be news to regular readers of data center knowledge, but the Journal piece will likely broaden awareness of growth of the data center sector.
