New Data Center in Oklahoma City

Colocation provider Perimeter Technology will break ground Nov. 12 on a 22,000 square foot data center in Oklahoma City, according to local media reports. Perimeter has outgrown its existing data centers in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and recently spent $1.4 million to buy 21 acres of land adjacent to its current headquarters.

Perimeter CEO John Parsons said recent announcements of major data center projects in Oklahoma - including a new Google data center in Pryor and a major expansion of the EDS facility in Tulsa - were also a factor in the company's expansion. "It just has turned a lot of eyes to Oklahoma to being one of the major players for the data center industry in North America," Parsons told NewsOK.

Other recently announced Oklahoma projects include a data vault by Titan Private Security in Sapulpa, and Chickasaw Nation Industries' proposal for a 150,000 square foot data center near Norman.

Perimeter operates a 16,000-square-foot data center at its headquarters and 37,000 square feet of space in Tulsa. Phase 1 of the new center will offer 14,602 square-feet of raised floor space.
