Paris is a hot market for Interxion, which said today that its sixth Paris data centre, at Ivry-sur-Seine, is now operational. What's more, the company said the "majority" the data centre’s 1,400 square meters (15,000 square feet) of equipment space has been pre-sold. The expansion gives Interxion 290,000 square feet of data center space across its six facilities in Paris, with a total European footprint of 25 data centres in 11 countries.

The PAR6 center was designed with an energy-efficient modular architecture, with free cooling, 2N redundancy for UPS power and N+1 for cooling, as well as advanced alarm and monitoring systems. The facility has a 4MVA redundant grid connection, and direct access to the PaNAP, FreeIX, PARIX and SFINX Internet exchanges.

"The successful completion of PAR6 extends the diversity of locations and facilities we can offer in the city still further," said Fabrice Coquio, Managing Director Interxion France. "It means that Interxion can offer a large range of tailored colocation solutions to customers, leveraging our unparalleled footprint and experience to satisfy a fast-growing market."
