Events: Velocity, Structure, IOM, CBX

Next week will be the busiest weeks on the 2009 calendar for the data center sector, with O'Reilly 's Velocity 2009, The Gartner IOM Summit, GigaOm's Structure 09 and the Telx CBX event.

Next week will be one of the busiest weeks on the 2009 calendar for the data center and cloud computing sector, with four significant events. Here's a recap:

  • The O'Reilly Velocity 2009 conference runs Monday through Wednesday  (June 22-24) at The Fairmont in San Jose, Calif. and focus on building web sites that are fast, scalable, resilient, and highly available. DCK readers can register using the code vel09data for a 15 percent discount.

  • The Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations & Management Summit runs Tuesday through Thursday (June 23-25) in Orlando, Florida. Data Center Knowledge readers can use the priority code DCK to get a $400 discount on registration.   • Structure 09: Put Cloud Computing to Work, a conference by the GigaOm Network, is set for Thursday (June 25) at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. Panels at Structure 09 will examine new database paradigms for web-scale computing, building hosting platforms for cloud apps, building clouds atop commodity hardware and the evolution of specialized clouds for industry verticals.   • The annual Telx CBX (Customer Business eXchange) is also scheduled for Thursday (June 25) at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Last year's event drew more than 1,200 attendees, making the CBX a key networking event for the connectivity crowd.
