Engine Yard is an interesting example of a niche hosting play. The company specializes in hosting applications built on the Ruby on Rails web development framework. At Velocity 2009 we spoke with Engine Yard's Michael Mullany about the company's history, strategy and infrastructure. "What we're trying to offer customers is a divorce from operations," says Mullany. This video runs about 7 minutes.
