Tim O'Reilly has seen lots of emerging technologies integrated into everyday use. The founder of O'Reilly Media has been an active player in the growth of open source software and Web 2.0 and tracks "alpha geek" thought leadership on his Radar blog. In this video, O'Reilly discusses the potential for cloud applications to accelerate innovation, as well as the challenges in navigating the "uncharted waters" of privacy and security. "One of the things we really need to watch out for is that we don't hold (cloud deployment) back because we have some storyline about how 'that's too dangerous.' I'm getting old enough to remember when that's what they said about giving people PCs" Tim also discusses the intersection of his joint interests in cloud computing and "government 2.0." This video runs about 4 minutes 20 seconds.
