Closer Look: The NYSE Basildon Data Centre
Over the last several years, NYSE Euronext has opened a series of data centers in major global financial hubs. These “liquidity hubs” provide the infrastructure for the NYSE to handle the huge growth in demand for colocation for low-latency trading, which has surged as trading activity has shifted to electronic exchanges. In this video, NYSE Technologies provides an overview of the operations at its liquidity center in Basildon, England. The facility will provide access to the NYSE Euronext cash equities market, as well as to NYSE LIFFE, NYSE Arca Europe and Smartpool. It will also provide 70,000 square feet of compute space in a 315,000-square-foot building on a 16-acre site 33 miles from central London. The video runs 2 minutes.
