Microsoft, Yahoo and Sabey have contracted for enormous amounts of power from local utilities to power their data center projects in central Washington.
Google spent $204 million on data center expenses in the second quarter of 2006, up from $181 million last year. That spending will accelerate in coming quarters, the company says.
