Texas colocation provider CyrusOne has secured a major tenant for its new data center facility in Austin, the company said today. Woodforest National Bank will house backup and disaster recovery services for its 14-state branch network at CyrusOne's new 50,000 square foot Austin data center at the MetCenter business park,
Woodforest currently houses its production systems in-house within their data center located in The Woodlands, Texas and has a back-up environment in a Woodforest facility in North Texas.

"It is close enough to our Houston headquarters for easy access, yet far enough away to provide the redundancy that is absolutely key for the financial services industry. CyrusOne maintains seven facilities totaling 480,000 square feet in Texas, including two facilities in Houston, three in Dallas and one in Austin. The Austin facility can provide up to 1,000 watts of power per square foot, according to CyrusOne.
