At the Data Center Jobs Board, we have two new job listings from Microsoft, which is seeking a Data Center Facilities Electrical Engineer and Controls Engineer.
The Data Center Facilities Electrical Engineer will be part of a multi-discipline team designing and building on fast-paced, multiple Microsoft data center projects around the world in various stages of design and construction. The ideal candidate will have deep technical understanding and experience with utility requirements, diesel generators, paralleling switchgear, PLC controls, static and rotary UPS systems, battery systems (VRLA and flooded cell), Static Transfer Switches, medium and low voltage distribution switchgear and switchboards, harmonics filtering, grounding/signal reference grids, over current coordination and fault current studies, and reliability modeling. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for design and coordination of the electrical distributions systems controls overall topology, specification development of the metering required for the Electrical Controls Monitoring System (EPMS), Branch Circuit Monitoring systems (BCSM), sequence of operation for the mechanical controls systems, and overall network topology and communication protocols required for each discipline.
