The Concentro portable data center from Rackable Systems (RACK) was awarded the 2007 "LinuxWorld.com Product Excellence Award" for "Most Innovative Hardware Solution."

Concentro directly addresses the growing need for increased data center compute capacity while reducing up-front costs and operational expenses, competing with Sun's Project Blackbox in the market for portable data centers. Housed in a secure, nondescript, weather-tight 40' x 8' shipping container, Concentro can hold up to 1,200U of servers or storage systems, uo to 9,600 cores and storage capacity of up to 3.5 petabytes, according to Rackable.
