Peer 1 Hosting, a global hosting company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, is building a new £45 million ($20.4 million USD) data centre in Portsmouth, Hampshire in the southern United Kingdom, according to the BBC's South Today News. The data center is cited as one of many technology businesses in the southern area, which might lead to a "Silicon Valley" in that part of the UK, said David Willets, MP, and Universities and Sciences Minister who visited the facility.
