    Some of the highlights of the Uptime Symposium were panel discussions that brought together groups of data center engineers and executives. Meanwhile, the exposition hall offered an opportunity for vendors to interact and network with conference delegates. Here’s a look at some scenes from the panel discussions and expo.

    Is custom hardware the key to alow PUE? Or can best practices do the trick? That was the topic for a panel featuring,from left, Chris Malone of Google, Steven Press from Kaiser Permanente, Ken Brill of The Uptime Institute and Juan Murguía of CEMEX.

    The winning team in the 2011 Green Enterprise IT Awards for Outstanding Facilities Product in a User Deployment were OpenGate Data and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) for an intelligent containment system.     This 12-foot by 7-foot touchscreen video wall provides interactive tours of the data centers operated by i/o Data Centers.
