Scenes from Data Center World 2011
The spring version of AFCOM’s Data Center World 2011 was held this week at the Mirage in Las Vegas. The event provides four days of training, panels, presentations and networking. Here’s a look at some of the sights at the show, both on the expo floor and in the conference sessions.

The booth for data center consultancy CGI resembled a giant metallic spider, making it one of the more visually interesting exhibits.

AFCOM CEO Jill Yaoz distributed iPads, Appe TVs, Flip videos and other prizes from the Data Center World raffle. Jill set the ground rules: if your name is called, you have to show enthusiasm and make whooping noises.

ASM Products, which specializes in access flooring, demonstrates a data center raised floor.

Active Power displayed a down-sized version of PowerHouse, the company's containerized power module, which includes a flywheel UPS and generator.
