Sustainability has always been a focus for EvoSwitch. the company says its data center currently has a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rate of 1.5. The company is in the process of building 55,000 square feet of new  space that will be even more efficient, with a goal of reaching a PUE of 1.2 The addition features extensive use of "free cooling," in which fresh air is used to cool the data center. Pictured above are heat disposal dry chillers on the roof of the data center. EvoSwitch takes advantage of the cool temperatures in the Netherlands, which allows the company to run without energy-hungry compressors for most of the year.

"Efficiently managing air flows to minimize energy usage, has substantially lowered our cooling expenses, resulting in substantial savings to EvoSwitch customers, said Eric Boonstra, Managing Director of EvoSwitch. "It is a win-win situation for customers and the environment.”
