The exhibit hall of the Gartner Data Center Conference 2010 was in the Forum Ballroom at Caesars Palace. The ballroom area was extremely large (like seemingly everything in Vegas) and provided plenty enough space for live demonstrations of modular data center units.
IBM showcased its Portable Modular Data Center unit to the eager participants, who often waited in line to get a peek inside. IBM staff in white lab coats were describing the capabilities of IBM container units.
SGI also brought its new air-cooled ICE Cube modular unit for in-person tours and demonstrations. The end of the unit, shown, features louvers to facilitate fresh-air cooling.
APC By Schneider Electric drew a number of attendees to its booth who were interested in power and cooling technologies.
Participants used the opportunity to discuss products, such as optical cabling, directly with vendors.
