Google’s Container Deployment Designs
June 18th, 2010 : Rich MillerGoogle’s newly-approved patent for container data center designs includes diagrams of several elements of its concept. Here’s a closer look:

This diagram depicts a central power spine with containers attached to docking modules on either side, which provide supply lines for power, cooling fluid and network connections (represented by the satellite antenna).

This diagram shows the cooling system inside the containers, featuring a heat exchanger and fans at the front to direct cool air back into the center cold aisle of the container.

This diagram shows the airflow pattern inside each container, with a central cold aisle and hot air return plenums behind the servers that return warm air to the sub-floor heat exchanger system.
