What's the best caption for our cartoon of the data center guys, Kip and Gary?

Friday Funny: Overhead Cabling

The (official) arrival of summer is just around the corner and we’re in a celebratory mood. Let’s ring in the new season with a brand new Friday Funny!

Diane Alber, the Arizona artist who created Kip and Gary, has a new cartoon for Data Center Knowledge’s cartoon caption contest. We challenge you to submit a humorous and clever caption that fits the comedic situation. Please add your entry in the comments below. Then, next week, our readers will vote for the best submission.

Here’s what Diane had to say about this week’s cartoon, “I’m not sure about you, but I’ve walked into a few data centers that have SERIOUS overhead cabling issues to the point where it looks like it could collapse the ladder rack!”

Congrats to the last cartoon winner, Todd, who won with, “I told you those old monitors were still good for something . . . See? Ambient Cooling.”

  1. How did we ever get our wires crossed? I need to unhook the fax machine line from this as were moving to the cloud.

  2. The new cabling standard specifies green cables for copper ethernet. Not blue. Make it so!

  3. Tom

Dang it, Johnson...I thought I told you never to let Mae West back in here!

  4. Sorry, I don't know how to get to P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney.

  5. Forget the cabling. Who aligned these cabinet rows?

  6. That blue cabling must be connecting us to the cloud...

  7. Why would anyone want a mess of cables way up there in plain sight?

  8. That copper up there is sure worth a fortune! Ya know, my car is about to die. Hmmm...aren't we upgrading to fiber cabling soon?
