Cray

Cray announced that the Cray XC30 series of supercomputers and the Cray CS300 line of cluster supercomputers are now available with the new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family. The new Intel Xeon processors will be featured across the complete line of Cray XC30 and Cray CS300 products, including both air and liquid cooled models. "Designing and building innovative, reliable and scalable supercomputing systems -- that are also flexible -- lies at the heart of our Adaptive Supercomputing vision, and adding the new Intel Xeon processors to our systems is another exciting step in that evolution," said Peg Williams, Cray's senior vice president of high performance computing systems.

Super Micro

Super Micro (SMCI) introduced new server and storage technologies ready to support the new Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 families. Products taking advantage of the new processor include: FatTwin, new TwinPro² systems, 12Gb/s SAS3 solutions, SuperBlade, Xeon Phi coprocessor solutions, SuperStorage, SuperWorkstations and Embedded products.  “Our architecture advancements in FatTwin, TwinPro² and SAS3 12Gb/s solutions deliver the highest computing performance and energy efficiency with maximized PCI-E, memory and storage I/O bandwidth for unrivaled performance per watt, per dollar, per square foot. Our new server, storage and workstation solutions, combined with full integration and support services worldwide, help organizations minimize TCO and maximize ROI as they scale their business,” said Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro.

Mellanox

Mellanox (MLNX) announced that its end-to-end, FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand interconnect solutions provide industry-leading  performance for compute demanding applications running over Intel’s new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family. Applications running over the new Intel Xeon processor and Mellanox’s FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solutions demonstrate over 30 percent better performance. “We applaud Intel’s new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family, which will provide end-users with even greater application performance potential,” said Gilad Shainer, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Together with Mellanox FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand interconnect solutions, the new Intel-based platforms will ensure IT managers the highest performance for their compute demanding applications and provide the best return-on-investment in their data center server and storage upgrades.”
