RF Code, Server Tech Integrate for Consolidated View

RF Code andServer Tech announced an integration. Information gathered from RF Code’s sensors now flows into SPM software, giving a consolidated view of power and environmental data.

Asset management provider RF Code and power monitoring and distribution provider Server Tech have announced an integrated data center solution. The integration enables Server Tech’s Sentry Power Manager (SPM) power monitoring solution to take full advantage of environmental data captured by RF Code sensors, providing a consolidated view of environment and power information.

The joint offering integrates via an SPM API. Information gathered from RF Code’s sensors flows into SPM software, giving a consolidated view of power and environmental data. The information RF Code monitors and sends includes:

  • Power utilization, which RF Code’s sensor collects from a Server Technology intelligent PDUTemperature, humidity, air pressure fluid detection and more
  • Door open and close for greater security
  • Trending and alarming related to temperature, humidity, air pressure and dew point

“From the CIO and CFO down, everyone involved with data center and facilities operations is concerned about the rising cost of power and cooling and the impact environmental conditions can have on data availability or uptime - whether from a bottom line, availability, operations, risk or compliance perspective,” said Richard Jenkins, vice president, marketing, RF Code. “This solution empowers executive and operational decision makers to make critical financial and business continuity decisions to increase data center efficiency.”

This is a prime example of the many pieces around data center monitoring and management beginning to integrate and play nice with one another to make monitoring and managing a data center much easier. There are so many vendors that offer very specific functions or pieces, and a lot of integration needs to happen for all these moving pieces to work together properly.

“Our joint integration advances our belief that the best of both worlds is often found by combining the best of solutions,” said Calvin Nicholson, Server Technology’s senior director of software and firmware. “RF Code’s differentiated, wire-free solution maps perfectly to our emphasis on intelligent monitoring of the power that affects usage, efficiency and cost. We share this view of capable simplicity, which is demonstrated in the solutions we together bring to market.”
