Apple Hiring Data Center Engineers

Apple is continuing to hire staff for its data center operations, with positions available ^[1] at current and future locations in North Carolina, Oregon, California sites in Newark and Santa Clara, and a new data center under construction in Reno, Nevada. The current openings include a position for a Data Center Site Services Manager ^[2] in Maiden, N.C. and a Data Center Chief Operating Engineer ^[3] in Newark.

Positions call for “familiarity with Apple’s Hardware Environment,” which includes equipment from Apple, IBM pSeries and xSeries, Sun, HP, Datadomain, NetApp, Teradata, IBM storage.

The hiring is part of a broad expansion of Apple’s Internet infrastructure, which includes existing sites in Maiden and Prineville, Oregon ^[4] and the new project in Reno ^[5]. The new facilities support Apple’s iTunes Store, App Store and iCloud services.
