Norland Wins Managment Contract on 120 MW Facility

Norland Managed Services has won a major contract to manage critical environment services for a 120 megawatt data center, the company said this week.

Norland Managed Services has won a major contract to manage critical environment services for a 120 megawatt data center, the company said this week. Norland, which launched its North American operations in January, said the engagement would involve support for a 700,000 square foot facility for a Fortune 10 company.

Norland did not identify the client, but the description and scale of the facility are consistent with the huge Microsoft cloud data center in suburban Chicago.

Norland is a leading global provider of facility operations and management, serving many of the largest Fortune 500 companies. Norland employs more than 4,000 employees and has U.S. offices in Chicago, Seattle and Dulles, Va. as well as operations throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Industry veteran Steve Manos is directing the company's U.S. operations, and said the new contract reflects the size and scale of facility management and operations that Norland has established in the global market.

“We are incredibly excited about this opportunity," said Manos. "I vehemently believe that the way in which Norland approaches facility operations is truly unique in the space and will be the driving force for our growth in the U.S. market. Obviously our customized tool sets, dedication to constant training and improvement and layering in unique aspect like human factors training for our staff are part of the equation. However, I believe our biggest strength is our corporate culture of excellence and personal responsibility/ownership of everything that we do.”
