Phoenix NAP has gone live with its new European node, located at an Interxion data center in Amsterdam. The move is part of a broader globalization of the operations of Phoenix NAP, which now has many international customers using the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform it launched last year from its data center in Phoenix.

“We are thrilled that our European node is finally available for our clients to utilize,” said William Bell, brand manager of cloud services for Phoenix NAP. “With our presence inside of the world-class facility at Interxion, along with our facility in Phoenix, Arizona, we can confidently present our clients with a multi-location cloud solution to effectively and efficiently manage global traffic and users.”

Phoenix NAP is offering its on-demand cloud solution, Secured Cloud, out of Interxion. The company is also open to the possibility of offering additional IT services out of Amsterdam as demand in the area grows.

"This is the first step in our strategy," said Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP. "By offering cloud solutions in another geographic market we not only provide the opportunity for clients to leverage a multi-facility service, we open up the possibilities of continuing relationships with leading providers like Interxion to extend other services globally. This growth, in turn, can translate into additional support jobs for the local Phoenix market while simultaneously creating opportunities for European companies to examine Phoenix as a potential U.S. point-of-presence."

Phoenix NAP said the expansion will also further expose the Phoenix-area technology market to other geographic regions, enabling additional inflow of economic activity.

“By growing their operation, Phoenix NAP is creating opportunities for added high-paying jobs that can attract top-talent to our region,” said Phoenix Vice Mayor Michael Johnson. “Phoenix NAP's growth in the technology industry expands the company's global reach while generating a positive economic impact in Phoenix and the region.”
