It’s already been a tough month for data center uptime. Customers of a Level 3 Communications data center in London were knocked offline last by a UPS failure. The downtime knocked dozens of companies offline, according to The Register [1], which has details from the incident report. “Power technicians have discovered 4 bus-bars scorched on the UPS system which caused the AC power failure,” it reported. The incident, which has been confirmed by Level 3, appears to have lasted about five hours.
