This video from O’Reilly’s Velocity 2011 focuses on career development for the IT sector. Theo Schlossnagle, of OmniTI, explains the journey to a career, not just job hopping, for people in the web operations fields. “You have to treat whatever you do as a career,” says Schlossnagle in the video. He emphasizes education, discipline, peer learning and patience to develop experience. He also says everyone in the organization needs “operational mentality.” The 12-minute video is worth watching!
