Here’s a roundup of some of this week’s headlines from the cloud computing sector:
Dell expands vCloud to Canada and Europe.  Dell announced it is expanding availability of its Dell Cloud with VMware vCloud Datacenter Services into Canada and Europe. A trail offer, currently available in the U.S. and Canada for $999 provides organizations of all sizes and industries an easy way to experience Dell’s hybrid and public cloud offerings, including full security, support and deployment from Dell Services. Dell’s secure enterprise-class cloud portfolio is a pragmatic approach to let customers leverage their current IT investments to build and operate an on-premise private cloud infrastructure, and access secure multi-tenant or community clouds. “Our goal is to help make the journey to the cloud easy, secure and accessible for customers of all sizes,” said Ricky Santos, vice president, cloud solutions for Dell. “The Dell Cloud with VMware vCloud® Datacenter Service gives customers control and flexibility to manage and extend IT resources for private, public or hybrid cloud without having to retrain IT staff. Our Dell Services experts can help guide them as they experiment and implement a solution that fits within their IT environments.”
CA Cloud selected by Hosting Ireland.  CA Technologies (CA) announced that Hosting Ireland, one of Ireland’s leading domain name and web hosting companies, has selected the CA AppLogic turnkey cloud computing platform as the basis for delivering cloud services to new and existing customers. Hosting Ireland will begin with offering Cloud Servers and a range of other cloud services, and move on to a Virtual Data Center solution next year. “We chose the CA AppLogic platform because it can streamline customers’ movement to the cloud, accelerating their time to market and lowering their cost for deploying new applications,” said Jonathan Bate, managing director, Hosting Ireland. “The secure, highly available and cost effective solution will enable customers to compose and deploy complex applications on demand, in a matter of hours instead of days or months. Our new online configuration tool means customers can configure a cloud server quickly and easily by selecting central processing units, random access memory and disk space simultaneously.” CA also announced  that Radix Technologies has selected AppLogic to deploy its turnkey cloud platform across the company’s operations in Europe.
SOASTA teams with Appcelerator . Cloud and mobile testing provider SOASTA announced support for Appcelerator’s Titanium 2.0 platform. CloudTest Mobile now provides reliable test automation to the 300,000 mobile developers using the Appcelerator platform giving them complete visibility into the functionality of their mobile applications throughout the entire application development lifecycle. “Our goal is to help the developer community release mobile apps that are fail safe and do it as quickly as possible,” said Tom Lounibos, SOASTA CEO. “This community is developing innovative mobile apps at Mach speed, and manual testing can’t keep up with the rapid development cycles. Now with CloudTest Mobile, they can run automated tests throughout the development lifecycle so they fix issues immediately and release sooner. We are very excited to join forces with Appcelerator to help accelerate our joint customers development efforts with precise and affordable test automation.”
