Nirvanix Adds SuperNAP to its Cloud Storage Network - Nirvanix announced this week that it added the technologically advanced Switch SuperNAP data center as the tenth node in its global Cloud Storage Network. The Switch SuperNAP, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the world's largest and most powerful data center and technology ecosystem, providing energy efficient, secure, and highly-reliable facilities for mission-critical business applications. Nirvanix's enterprise customers, including some of the world's largest cloud storage deployments, are already using the SuperNAP data center to upload and replicate data from other nodes for protection and disaster recovery as well as to enable access and collaboration from anywhere on the globe. Nirvanix's other cloud storage nodes are located in California, Texas, New Jersey, Hawaii, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan.
Terremark, EMC Announce Strategic Cloud Partnership - Terremark, a Verizon Company, and EMC Corporation on Wednesday announced a strategic initiative under which both companies will work to offer tailored solutions built on Terremark’s global service capabilities and EMC’s best-of-breed, cloud-optimized information infrastructure technologies. Through this strategic initiative, EMC will provide the advanced technology infrastructure for Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud Private Edition offering as well as public and hybrid deployments. Helping drive innovation, the companies will expand the range of options for IT organizations seeking to improve business agility, gain greater efficiency, and control costs as they accelerate their journey to cloud computing. Additionally, Terremark has achieved Platinum-level in the EMC VelocityTM Service Provider Partner Program.
IO Announces Contract with Nothing But NET - IO said Wednesday that the company has been awarded a contract by Nothing But NET, a provider of private cloud computing and hosting services.
IO will provide Nothing But NET with Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) delivered out of the IO New Jersey data center. Nothing But NET will connect its systems at IO New Jersey with existing systems at the IO Phoenix data center to provide multi-site disaster recovery services to customers. "IO's modular data center solutions are the perfect technology for us to roll out and build our disaster recovery services," said Bob Cox, president, Nothing But NET. "IO provides the secure, highly reliable and redundant infrastructure that is essential to ensure uptime even in the face of unexpected disasters."
HP Expands Converged Cloud Portfolio - HP extended the “cloud bursting” capabilities of HP CloudSystem to deliver instant access to additional capacity through HP Cloud Services, Amazon Web Services and Savvis. A core element of the HP Converged Cloud portfolio, HP CloudSystem provides a complete, integrated and open platform that enables enterprises and service providers to build and manage services across private, managed and public cloud environments. HP CloudSystem Matrix software enables organizations to reduce cloud deployments from several weeks to one day when building a complete IaaS implementation for virtualized environments.
