Friday Funny: Cartoon Caption Contest
Happy Friday! Time for a little workplace humor before we head out of the office for an early summer weekend.
Congratulations to Dale Stout who won the previous cartoon contest suggesting a caption for our Modular cartoon with “We opened a branch office in the cloud.”
Below is another cartoon for our caption contest where we provide the cartoon by Diane Alber, our data center cartoonist who draws Kip and Gary, and you, our readers, can submit the caption. We will then choose three finalists and the readers will have a chance to vote for their favorite suggestion. The winner will receive their caption in a signed print by Diane.
About this week’s cartoon, Diane explains it this way: “It seems like every time I tour a data center, the cabinets keep getting bigger and bigger. So in this comic, Kip and Gary get a random cabinet that goes all the way to the ceiling. I’m not sure what they are going to do with it.”

“At least we now have room for EoL 6500 Catalyst Equipment – To Nexus and Beyond!”
I wish racks were like Facebook’s stock, shrinking everyday!
“That must be Donald Trump’s rack”
Hey KIP – Did you push the button? Maybe we should take the stairs I don’t hear the elevator moving.
Oh great, now the other servers will have cabinet envy.

New Data Center Caption Contest: Can a Cabinet be too big? - Kip and Gary
Posted June 7th, 2012[...] I’m a little behind this week on my postings but you still have two days to submit your captions and check out the captions that have been submitted….there are some great ones! A little backround onn what I was thinking when I drew this comic. It seems like every time I tour a data center, the cabinets keep getting bigger and bigger. So in this comic, Kip and Gary get a random cabinet that goes all the way to the ceiling. I’m not sure what they are going to do with it. CLICK here to enter the contest! [...]
