Bluebird Chooses Digital Realty's 210 N. Tucker in St. Louis - Digital Realty has signed a long-term lease agreement with Bluebird Network for Powered Base Building space in Digital Realty's 210 N. Tucker property in St. Louis, Missouri. Bluebird Network provides fiber optic services in Missouri, Illinois, and surrounding states. Bluebird operates the merged networks of Missouri Network Alliance, Illinois Network Alliance, and Bluebird Media. Bluebird Network will build out its own dedicated data center facility within its leased space at the 210 N. Tucker property, which will support its network of over 5000 route miles providing broadband services to rural and underserved communities.
Nirvanix Offers Direct Connections to Cloud Storage within Equinix - Cloud storage specialist Nirvanix today announced the availability of direct connections to its Cloud Storage Network in Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers. By offering this direct connection to Nirvanix offerings, new and existing Equinix customers are able to establish a private network connection between their owned or managed IT infrastructure and the Nirvanix Cloud Storage Network in the same data center – providing immediate access to the Nirvanix Cloud File System, designed to support millions of users, billions of objects and exabytes of data. The service is currently available in Equinix data centers in New Jersey; Frankfurt, Germany; and Tokyo, Japan and enables customers to bypass Internet service providers to improve throughput, gain consistent network performance, reduce costs and add cloud storage capabilities to their existing IT foundation.
DataGryd Opens Doors at 60 Hudson Street - DataGryd has announced the grand opening of its facility at 60 Hudson Street, the original Western Union Building known today as the premiere carrier hotel in North America. The company has undergone a comprehensive infrastructure retrofit of the 80-year old space, replacing outdated mechanical systems and transforming the power and cooling capacity. DataGryd spans multiple floors of one of the world’s most connected buildings and will meet the increasing demands for high-power data processing and data storage centers in New York’s urban market, providing up to 27 megawatts of onsite power energy-efficiently. DataGryd has engineered a MicroGryd that consists of an onsite natural gas combined cooling, heating and power plant (CCHP) – designed under strict EPA guidelines – and a backup diesel generator with 26,000 gallons of fuel storage. The MicroGryd will enable overall power consumption to be reduced by up to 30 percent and will deliver significant reductions in energy usage and operating costs for customers.
