Jaguar Land Rover selects Colt for Modular Data Centre - Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has selected Colt’s data centre for its Solihull advanced manufacturing plant in the UK. Jaguar Land Rover will migrate its existing on-site IT facilities to a new purpose-built data centre at the plant, featuring a data centre from Colt. In the first deployment of Colt’s modular data centre by a major manufacturer, the new data centre is planned to be delivered within just four months and fully operational in the first half of 2012. “This agreement reaffirms the versatility of our modular data centre’s unique design for deployment on demand in any industry, even volume manufacturing,” said Bernard Geoghegan, Executive Vice President at Colt Data Centre Services.
C7 Data Centers to Host DataTree - C7 Data Centers will provide extensive data center services to DataTree, the company said this week. The multi-year colocation service contract includes office space, cabinets, power and bandwidth in C7's new Bluffdale facility.DataTree's scalable online database software solutions require no programming, scripting, hardware purchase or database administration. DataTree also features automated data import, list management and database design and reporting tools. "With C7's enterprise-class infrastructure and continuous network monitoring, we can deliver high availability and around-the-clock access for DataTree and its clients," said Wes Swenson, President and CEO, C7 Data Centers. Internap Supports Vermont Teddy Bear with CDN - Vermont Teddy Bear Company is leveraging Internap Network Services' Content Delivery Network (CDN) and route-optimized Performance IP and colocation services to support its ecommerce business.
Vermont Teddy Bear sells teddy bears, pajamas and flowers via phone, catalog and the Internet. With business evolving and 80 percent of sales coming via the Internet during spikes in the end-of-year holiday season and around Valentine's Day, the company needed to expand its IT Infrastructure.The company selected Internap's accelerated CDN, as well as its route-optimized Performance IP and colocation services, for a high-performance solution."Our busiest sales period is typically from October to December each year, with traffic to our websites increasing approximately 700 percent from the previous quarter, followed by Valentine's Day, when our web traffic is comparable to the holiday season in the week leading up to February 14," said Victor Castro, director of ecommerce operations at Vermont Teddy Bear.
