Big stories abounded in October. Coverage of the Open Compute Project – which aims to open source hardware and infrastructure for the data center – topped our list of most viewed stories. New projects such as AOL’s “lights out” data center, and Facebook’s facility to be built near the Arctic Circle in Sweden and another building in its NC campus, were very popular. Of course, many readers viewed the story on Remembering Steve Jobs, which noted that Steve’s last announcement was about iCloud and the iDataCenter.  Here’s a look at the 10 most popular stories of October 2011, ranked by total page views:
