Teradata: Simplifying Big Analytics for Business
Randy Lea, Vice President, Teradata Center of Innovation, described Teradata’s approach to simplifying and deploying big data analytics for business users, at the O’Reilly Strata Conference in September in New York City. In April, TerAdata, an established data warehouse provider, completed the acquisition of analytics firm aster data, with the intention to bring the MapReduce SQL framework to its customers, who have large data sets from 2 TB to 50 PB. Teradata clients include ebay, Wal-Mart, AT&T, Dell, Wells Fargo and others. The company aims to extract new value from both old and new data, deliver new high-value analysis and increase the ability of business intelligence users to leverage the data to address business problems. The video runs about 10 minutes.
