ZBB Enters Data Center Power Segment With DC Design Win - ZBB Energy Corporation (Amex: ZBB) announced a collaboration with Universal Electric to provide uninterrupted power to DC voltage lighting loads, rack power to servers and other miscellaneous loads at a major data center in a trial program. Over the course of the project, the system will include the ZBB EnerStore V3 flow battery and a ZBB EnerSection power and control center with photovoltaic (PV) and wind inputs, along with a fixed 380v DC output for continuous power output while tied to the grid. "The integration of ZBB's products are the key to helping us deliver the world's first Chip2Grid DC solution tied to EMerge DC Building Solutions," said Tim Martinson, Director of Universal Electric Corporation, Starline DC Solutions. Universal Electric Corp., the leader in customizable AC and DC power distribution solutions, has been an industry innovator for more than 85 years. Starline DC Solutions offers a 380v DC computer infrastructure.

RTS Selects Equinix as Provider in Germany - Global trading solutions provider RTS Realtime Systems Group has chosen Equinix, Inc. as the provider of its newest low latency global data center in Germany. The RTS data center, which offers hosting and co-location services, will be located at Equinix's FR2 facility in Frankfurt, enabling RTS to continue to offer low latency sensitive clients the fastest access to Eurex and Xetra markets. Last year, Deutsche Borse AG selected the Equinix Frankfurt facility as its new main data center to operate as the primary co-location site for customers of Eurex, one of the world's leading derivatives exchanges, and Xetra, the leading pan-European trading system for the cash market of Deutsche Borse.

FiberMedia Secaucus Adds Low Latency Provider - Colocation provider FiberMedia Group said today that Hudson Fiber Network (HFN), a provider of low-latency networking solutions for the financial industry, has extended its dark fiber network into its Secaucus, New Jersey data center, which opened in April. With geographic proximity to U.S. capital markets, FiberMedia boasts microsecond delivery to U.S. trading venues, as well as to Buy/Sell Side firms. “New Jersey is quickly becoming one of the most important hubs for the financial community,” states Keith Muller, CEO of Hudson Fiber Network.
