Arista Networks: ‘Open Always Wins’

Last week Arista Networks launched EOS Central, an open development platform for third-party developers to build extensions of Arista's Extensible Operating System. In this video, Arista's Doug Gourlay discusses the potential for open standards in the networking world.

Last week Arista Networks launched EOS Central, an open development platform for third-party developers to build extensions of Arista's Extensible Operating System (EOS). The company also announced its own downloadable add-on, called CloudVision, that Arista says can centrally manage thousands of switches connected to millions of servers. These type of open networking standards will be attractive to cloud computing providers, according to Arista VP of Marketing Doug Gourlay, who says programmable APIs offer the opportunity to differentiate services. In this video, Gourlay discusses the potential for open standards in the networking world, and how Arista is working to advance these open standards.
