FalconStor Names McNiel President and CEO – Data protection specialist FalconStor Software (FALC) has named James McNiel as president and CEO and has elected McNiel to the board of directors. In his previous roles as FalconStor’s chief strategy officer and most recently as interim president and interim CEO, McNiel designed the corporate strategy that now drives product development, worldwide marketing initiatives and strategic alliances at FalconStor. ServiceMesh Cites Record Results – ServiceMesh, a provider of enterprise software and services, announced record results for 2010 including revenue growth, profitability and customer expansion. The Los Angelese company said its growth has “skyrocketed” due to demand from Global 2000 companies seeking to reduce the time and resources required to run their IT services. ServiceMesh enables cost effective IT operating models that encompass a federation of internal and external IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and cloud service providers. Press release.

Online Tech Shifts to Cloud Infrastructure – Michigan hosting firm Online Tech says it has implemented a cloud computing solution capable of passing their SAS 70 audited procedures. Using VMWare’s virtualization technologies, and Dell EqualLogic SANs, Online Tech standardized a private cloud computing architecture with dedicated servers, network infrastructure, and storage. The result was a secure private cloud, capable of meeting PCI, SOX, and HIPAA compliance requirements. Press release.

Instor Solutions Expands in Southern California – Instor Solutions, a provider of data center infrastructure management solutions, announced plans to open two new offices – one in Los Angeles and one in San Diego – to meet increased demand for data center services in Southern California. The increased demand for data center retrofits is driven in part by energy efficiency and sustainability incentives from utilities and government agencies. Press release.
