Fall data center and computing conferences continue through the final two months of the calendar year. The four major events in November and December include forums focused on investing, supercomputing, next-stage virtualization, the impact of cloud computing, best practices in cost optimization, escalating energy costs and aging infrastructure. Below are highlights of the upcoming events.
IMN Forum on Financing & Investing in Data Centers
Rick Magnuson, Chairman of Digital Realty Trust and co-founder of GI Partners will deliver the keynote address, on The Evolution & Future of Data Center Investing, at the Information Management Network (IMN) Forum on Financing, Investing & Real Estate Development for Data Centers. The forum is set for November 8-9 at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, Los Angeles.
Twenty data center presidents, COOs and CEOs of data center companies will be presenting at the event that provides a presidential and “C-level” perspective on data center business and investment. Topics include: data center physical attributes; financing; site search, evaluation and acquisition; power generation and conservation; new construction and building conversion; and tenant perspectives on choosing a data center.

SC10 Supercomputing
The SC10 (Supercomputing) international conference convenes the world’s leading experts in high-performance computing, networking and storage. The forum, to take place in New Orleans from November 13-19, is the leading place for exchange of information in the global HPC community through a vibrant exhibit floor, a set of strong community programs, and the highly-respected technical program that anchors the conference.
SC10, sponsored by IEEE Computer Society and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), aims to showcase the many ways high-performance computing, networking, storage and analysis lead to advances in scientific discovery, research, education and commerce. SC10, the 23rd annual conference in this series, anticipates more than 10,000 attendees from industry, academia and government will participate.

7×24 Exchange 2010 Fall Conference
End-to-End Reliability: Mission Critical Facilities is the title of 7×24 Exchange's 2010 Fall Conference, which will be held Novembe 14-16 at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix. This conference is designed for anyone involved with 7×24 infrastructures – IT; data center; disaster recovery, network and telecommunication managers; computer technologists; facility or building managers, supervisors and engineers. Vendors, consultants, or anyone concerned with uninterrupted access to critical information also will find interesting and timely topics and discussions.
The conference will cover such areas as: enhancing data center efficiency with containers and how containers provide options to end users; high-performance computing; and information security in cloud computing.
Kevin Timons, GM of Microsoft's Data Center Services, will present on how Microsoft is re-thinking the traditonal data center.

Gartner Data Center Conference
The Gartner Data Center Conference, scheduled for December 6-9 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, will focus on current issues and challenges in the data center sector, including next-stage virtualization, the impact of cloud computing, best practices in cost optimization, escalating energy costs and aging infrastructure.
Hot topics include: public and private cloud computing; virtualization – server, storage, client; consolidation; storage growth; data center power, cooling, and space; cost optimization and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and process improvements.
