- Telx Announces Ethernet Exchange Charter Customers  - Interconnection and colocation provider Telx today announced nine new service provider customers to its Ethernet Exchange Charter Customer program. Charter Customer participants include KDDI, Expereo, FiberLight, Intelepeer, Intellifiber Networks, IPNetZone, OneSource, Packet Exchange and RRSat.
- Cloudera Raises Hefty Funding Round  - Cloudera, a key distributor of software that helps companies analyze big piles of data, has raised another $25 million. The announcement marks the closely held company’s third round of funding, which will be led by Meritech Capital Partners and include the start-up’s earlier investors, Accel Partners and Greylock Partners. It brings the company’s total funding so far to $36 million. The Palo Alto, Calif., company—founded by former Google, Yahoo and Facebook engineers and a former Oracle executive–is the commercial source for a popular set of open-source software known as Apache Hadoop.
- Cloud users should not ignore geography says Forrester  – The notion that distance doesn’t matter when it comes to cloud computing is a misguided one according to new research from Forrester. Ignoring geographic issues may be “perilous” for corporate customers warned the company in a new report.
- Sioux Falls Best Location for Low Cost Data Centers  – Sioux Falls, South Dakota, retains its spot as the least expensive city in America in which to operate a data center, according to the most recent study by independent site selection consulting services provider The Boyd Company
