Data center developer Digital Realty Trust (DLR) says it is targeting the Asia-Pacific region for its next phase of expansion, with plans for facilities in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and India. Digital Realty CTO Jim Smith and head of Asia-Pacific operations Kris Kumar tell
ZDNet Asia [1] that the company is responding to demand from existing customers who are seeking data center space in the region.
Digital Realty isn;t the only data center builder focusing on the Asia-Pacific markets. Clocation and interconnection specialist Equinix is currently expanding facilities in
Tokyo [2], Sydney, Singapore, and
Hong Kong [3].
