Data center provider
Phoenix NAP and Denver-based
PeakColo have formed a strategic partnership to boost connectivity and disaster recovery options for their customers. As part of the agreement, PeakColo will occupy space at the
recently-opened [1] Phoenix NAP data center. The arrangement allows customers of both providers to easily add an out-of-region back-up site for their data in either Denver or Phoenix.
With customers increasingly are seeking to house their data in at least two separate locations, the quest for geographic redundancy works to the advantage of providers with multiple data centers around the country. DR swap partnerships, which have been seen
since 2007 [2], allow regional providers to level the playing field. Fortrust and Consonus announced a
similar partnership [3] earlier this year.
The presence at Phoenix NAP will also will offer expanded connectivity options for PeakColo customers, the companies said.
“Denver and Colorado are very significant markets within the IT and high-tech industries,” said Ian McClarty, president of
Phoenix NAP [4]. “However, connectivity is more limited than it is in Phoenix. We’re thrilled to be working with PeakColo to help address this situation and offer some additional options.”
PeakColo provides dedicated hosting, colocation, cloud services, and managed services. “As PeakColo extends its IaaS, cloud services and hosting offerings, the move into Phoenix NAP’s state-of-the-art datacenter affords our customers and us unparalleled capability and capacity,” said Luke Norris, founder and CEO of
PeakColo [5].
