- Steadfast Networks Opens New Data Center in Chicago - Steadfast Networks announced today the opening of its new Chicago data center, located at 725 S. Wells St. The new data center will accommodate the expanding demand for Chicago colocation and hosting services. The initial phase includes 6,000 sq. ft. of raised floor data center space and 750kW of power and is the first phase of a 4.5MW build-out at the location. Press release.
- onShore Networks Announces New Data Center in Downtown Chicago - onShore Networks today announced it has completed construction of its new Data Center facility in downtown Chicago. The 3,000 square foot data center is centrally located at 216 W. Jackson Boulevard, and expands onShore Networks' footprint for colocation space. Press Release
- DataChambers Completes Construction of Second Data Center - The North Carolina-based technology firm DataChambers today announced it has completed construction of a second data center on its 80-acre Winston-Salem campus. The $9 million project more than doubles the company’s capacity to serve clients.
- Move Networks Up For Sale - Move Networks has just issued a press release saying that it, "intends to retain a financial advisor to assist the Company in evaluating strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the Company." It has announced that President and CEO Roxanne Austin will step down, "following a brief transition period." From The Business Of Online Video
- Eucalyptus Raises $20 Million in New VC Funds - Eucalyptus Systems, a Santa Barbara, Calif.-based start-up that is developing a cloud-computing management platform based on open source, says that it has raised $20 million in a new round of funding. From GigaOm.
- EMC cans Atmos Online service - Cloud storage booster EMC has canned its own Atmos Online cloud storage service, referring customers to its three "world-class service providers". EMC launched the Atmos Online service in May, 2009. Fourteen months later this has been downgraded to a development resource. From The Register.
- Carpathia Hosting Names Michael Fox Director of Sales - Carpathia Hosting, the leading provider of enterprise managed hosting services for government agencies and enterprises, announced today the addition of Michael Fox to the Carpathia management team as director of sales for public sector. - Computer Network Solutions Leases Colo Space - Computer Network Solutions ("CNS") has leased approximately 35,000 square feet for its corporate headquarters office and managed network operations at 131 Hoffman Lane in Islandia, N.Y. - Data center backers pressure Missouri Governor - Missouri economic development backers failed in May to get sales tax exemptions approved for data centers. Now they want the Governor to expand the special session call to let lawmakers pass those incentives. One Columbia official says three data center companies are interested in mid-Missouri.
