Google's Hölzle to Keynote at Velocity 2010

Google Senior Vice President of Operations Urs Hölzle will be the keynote speaker at Velocity 2010, the O’Reilly Web Performance and Operations Conference, which moves to new location June 22-24 at the Hyatt Santa Clara in Santa Clara, Calif. Now in its third year, Velocity brings together the leaders taking web performance and operations into the future.

Hölzle will speak Wednesday, June 23, immediately following a kickoff session on "Datacenter Infrastructure Innovation" by James Hamilton, VP and Distinguished Engineer at Amazon Web Services. Velocity 2010 Program chairs Steve Souders and Jesse Robbins have put together a first-rate lineup of speakers and topics. Key sessions at Velocity 2010 currently include:

  • An O'Reilly Radar plenary from Tim O'Reilly of O"Reilly Media
  • "In the Belly of the Whale: Operations at Twitter" by John Adams of Twitter
  • "A Day in the Life of Facebook Operations" by Facebook's Tom Cook
